Entering our 120 Broadway office on a recent early Spring morning, Brooke & I noticed an unusual haze in the foyer area….

And, even more mysterious, was the rarely seen Vegetarian Flesh Eating Zombie (commonly referred to as VFEZ), toiling away at our microfiche machine…

Apparently, even the undead can have failed romances.. Our VFEZ recently experienced a broken engagement….and, after researching NYLI’s extensive Record & Briefs collection— he now knows he cannot keep the ring!!

We heard that the only way to kill a zombie was by destroying its brain, but the rare VFEZ species subset can only be destroyed by a broken heart. As our VFEZ visitor, whom we hoped would take advantage of a NYLI trial membership, began to cry dust… the very air around the front desk began to quake and waver….

Nothing but the NYLI jacket & strewn microfilm left behind….

We are unlikely to see the nearly extinct VFEZ again, and while the OED even lists the use of Zombie in the world of finance, it has yet to add the Vegetarian variety….

OED, available as a remote source to NYLI members, is widely regarded as the accepted authority on the English Language…..
