As you may know from an earlier blog, NYLI is currently in temporary quarters, and during the move — our own Mr. James T. Brady was reunited with his long lost mini-me….

Mini Brady was probably a kind of salesman’s sample … a terracotta miniature proposal made by the artist for approval before beginning on the commission for the final marble bust…

Former NYLI President James T. Brady had celebrity clients, set a historical legal precedent, and was one of the most successful criminal defense attorneys of his era.

Brady’s lasting fame came with his successful defense of Sickles in one our nation’s earliest celebrity murder trials. Brady was one of the first lawyers to use the temporary insanity plea in defending Sickles in the murder of D.C.’s Assistant District Attorney Philip Barton Key

Brady skills as a legal advocate are legendary, and if time travel were possible, 19th Century’s greatest lawyer would be amazed at the current NYLI collection…

Such as ProQuest Congressional’s ready made guides… like this one on the Federal Prison System..

For Mr. James T. Brady, his New York practice would certainly be helped by these titles in our print collection..

And even the most experienced lawyers like our Mr. Brady, could use a Nutshell now & then…..

Although James T. Brady’s times did not coincide with The New York Law Journal publication, he’d be glad to know that NYLI has access to the NY Law Journal back to the very beginning…

eBooks, print, items uniquely on microfilm, extensive Record & Brief collection, ProQuest Congressional, LLMC and of course, research guidance from our friendly librarians — NYLI welcomes Mr. James T. Brady, little Jimmy “Mini Me” and you, dear reader, to explore our collection and consider membership today!
