And while our first President issued a Thanksgiving proclamation, it was during the Civil War that the holiday began its development as a national holiday….

Thanksgiving has also become the kick-off for the holiday shopping season, with the the next day being termed “Black Friday”, as retailers hope sales in late November and December will put their books in the black (profitable) rather than red (loss) side of the ledger…

But giving back remains a big part of the season, and opportunities abound for small and large acts of philanthropy. And, yes, Nonprofits need legal representation. Don’t worry, NYLI has you covered with….
