McAfee Chief Scientist Raj Samani along with a team from Agile Cybersecurity Systems provided an in-depth overview of how ransomware is taking various industries by storm in this on-demand webinar.

Attendees were given a review of how ransomware works and some sobering data about its prevalence and the increased frequency of attacks during the pandemic in this fascinating web presentation.

Afterward, we were informed about a group called No More Ransom that assists ransomware victims.  Law enforcement and IT security companies have joined forces to disrupt cybercriminal businesses that use ransomware attacks.  Their site includes pages on How to prevent a ransomware attack; Ransomware Q&A; Decryption Tools, and more.  Their goals are to help victims of ransomware retrieve their encrypted data without having to pay the criminals and educate users about how ransomware works and what countermeasures can be taken to effectively prevent infection.

Links to the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and the International Organization for Standardization were also provided for deeper background.
