Marshall Breeding has published another comprehensive Library Systems Report for American Libraries which summarizes all of the acquisitions and mergers that happened last year. Some of the highlights include:
- Proquest’s acquisition of Ex Libris this past October which brings them the Alma cloud-based LMS along with the Primo discovery service in addition to their 2011 acquisition of Serials Solution’s Summon.
- Proquest’s recent acquisition of Coutts Info Services bringing them the MyiLibrary eBooks collection, adding to their 2013 acquisition of EBL eBooks as well as their own eBrary.
- EBSCO’s massive donations to back open source ILS solutions.
- SirsiDynix emerging as a market leader with 52 new contracts for EOS.Web bringing the total to 1,089 for 2015 for that ILS while their Symphony ILS had the most installations than any other in midsized to larger libraries with 2,548.
