American Journalism Review recently reportedthat increasingly news sources are using Tumblr to engage with readers. In particular, the news outlets use Tumblr to reach younger audiences. The site allows greater depth of coverage than Twitter with its character limits, and allows for both serious stories as well as a touch of humor. Other news outlets that have achieved success in reaching readers with Tumblr include NPR, BBC, and Newsweek.
